FROM THE GLOBAL PARTNERSHIP COMMITTEE
The Committee thanks all those who have contributed so far toward September’s visit of our partners from the Hungarian Reformed Church in Sovata, Romania.  We are anticipating that the three visitors will be with us for approximately ten days, including two Sundays.  We have committed to purchasing their airfare, other travel expenses, and any expenses associated with obtaining visas.  During their visit we will need church members to host them for meals, chauffer them to activities, and otherwise welcome them!  If you are able to help, or if you have any questions, please contact any member of the committee:  Cindy Farley and Jim Csovelak, Co-chairs; Don and Vivian Noblett, Jean Riker, Becky Rosenbauer, and Judy Steinberg.

NEW EYES FOR THE NEEDY
During the month of May the Deacons are sponsoring a collection drive for the New Eyes For The needy organization. This organization provides the gift of sight to the poor all over the United States and the world. They are able to provide new glasses to those who need them through a voucher system that is paid for by monetary donations and from melted-down objects, including metal eyeglass frames and old jewelry and silverware.  You may place items in the collection baskets outside the front entrance to the sanctuary and outside the chapel doors. *Monetary donations will also be accepted.

Nursery and Childcare Program
Please consider signing up to care for and reach out to the youngest, most precious members of church. This is a wonderful way to participate in CHPC’s ministry to younger generations. Please contact Jessie Reifsnyder, or Chris McFadden, our Childcare Coordinator, for more information.

2008 LOCAL MISSION WEEK
This year we are broad-ening our impact by doing our mission week at the Broad Street Ministry (www.broadstreetministry.org) in Philadelphia on July 27-August 1, 2008. Similar to the Local Mission Week in Easton, we will be able to serve in a variety of venues throughout the week. BSM provide accommodations, food, as well as basic programs (mission venues, worship services, tours). Broad Street Ministry is a dynamic faith community that is seeking to also be a “convening outpost” that facilitates mission experiences for those outside of Philadelphia. This is open to youth (Current 7th Grade and up) and any adults from College Hill Presbyterian Church who are willing to serve as advisors. The costs are $300/person (includes food and accommodations) but a large part of is subsidized by the church and fundraising. The deadline is June 1st. Please see Pastor Mihee for more information.

Dominican Republic/FFP Mission Project
Our Dominican brothers and sisters at La Javilla de la Cruz Grande are in a wonderful season as they are in the process of starting construction on a school building, continuing church construction, and looking into building a water treatment system. We are thrilled to be able to join with Pilgrim Presbyterian Church (Phillipsburg, NJ) and Westfield High School – Project 79 (NJ) to work with this community. There are many ways you can be a vital part of this mission experience…Please HELP US COLLECT TOOTHBRUSHES, TOOTHPASTE, SOAP! We will also accept donations of school supplies (notebooks and pencils), and band-aids. There are baskets in the Chapel and in front of Mihee’s office.

Our next Team meeting will be Sunday, June 1st after the worship service.
