Announcements

IN CASE OF SNOW…
All it takes is a good snowstorm on a Saturday to point out how inadequate our systems of communication are!  We fully intend to hold worship each and every Sunday.  However, in the event of bad weekend weather, there will be at least three ways that any pertinent information will be disseminated:
   1) We endeavor to put information on the church answering machine;
   2) We will post information on the church website: collegehillpc.net;
   3) We will post information on the WFMZ-TV website:  wfmz.com.  It is possible that such information will scroll across the bottom of the TV newscasts, but the station will not guarantee that.  In any case, those with computers can access closing information.
Thank you for your understanding!

WEEKLY BIBLE STUDY
Bible study, let by the pastors, meets on Tuesday mornings at 10:00 in the church lounge. All are welcome.

CHPC RECYCLING EFFORTS
The Board of Trustees has made a commitment to move towards being a “greener” congregation.  We have purchased more recycling containers and placed them strategically around the church building.  We encourage all church members to be more attentive to what is to be thrown away, and to consider making the extra effort to find and use an appropriate recycling container rather than the nearest trash can.  The two types of containers are: -Mixed Paper: for church bulletins, mail, church school handouts, magazines, etc. -Co-mingled: for plastic, glass and metal containers
Thank you!

WOMEN’S CIRCLES
Please join us for a time of fellowship and Bible Study on Wednesday mornings at 11 am. We begin a Bible Study on Romans from the Life Lessons series by Max Lucado. *We do have childcare available.* Our next Book Club gatherings will be on the 2nd and 4th Tuesdays of each month at 7:30 PM in the Library. Non-church members are welcome, so please invite any friends. See Pastor Mihee to RSVP and for more information!

PRESBYTERIAN WOMEN GATHERING
Presbyterian Women (PW) is the national women’s organization of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). With a history of more than 200 years and more than 300,000 members, PW is organized at all levels of the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). We are working to coordinate mission opportunities for Safe Harbor, Meals on Wheels, Furniture Bank, and 3rd Street Alliance. There will be more information about other mission and fellowship activities at the website: www.collegehillpc.net - click on the PW tab. Please see Sue Consalvo, PW moderator at CHPC or call the office for more information.

ProJeCt / INTERFAITH EMERGENCY FOOD PANTRY
The ProJeCt/Interfaith Emergency Food Pantry operates out of St. John’s Lutheran Church on Ferry Street and is the largest food pantry in Northampton County. Some items that are especially needed at this time are the following:  Healthy Cereal, Canned Soup, Jelly, canned potatoes, juices, and Brown paper bags. If there are any questions call:  Nancy Grant @ 610-252-3024 or Betty/Food Pantry 610-258-4361 Ext. 31.

GREETERS
This is a wonderful way to be hospitable to our church members and newcomers. If you would like to become a Greeter, please call Ilene Baumann. Only a few Sundays a year are required and current Greeters say they really enjoy their Sunday morning interaction with the congregation.  Everyone is welcome and encouraged to be a Greeter. If you have any questions you may call the church  office at 610-253-4792.

DOMINICAN REPUBLIC/FOUNDATION FOR PEACE:
Our dates for summer 2010 are July 7-16th. We will have our first official, mandatory organizational meeting on Sunday, January 10th, 2010 following the worship service. The mission trip is for anyone 9th grade (current) and up (if you are younger than 9th grade, you can join the trip if a parent/guardian accompanies you). Forms are available NOW with information about the trip. The commitment deadline is February 15th. Please see Pastor Mihee for more information.

NURSERY AND CHILDCARE
As the new program year begins in September, we encourage you to consider serving during the 10:30 AM worship services in the Nursery [every Sunday] or Childcare [every 3rd Sunday] rooms as a way to be a part of the ministry to children here at College Hill Presbyterian Church. If you are interested in serving our young ones during the Program Year beginning September 13th, we are signing up adults and youth (7th and up) for Nursery and Childcare. Please see Sandy Adams, our coordinator, or Jessie Reifsnyder for more information.

FISH & CHYPS
FISH (9TH-12TH) & CHYPS (6th-8th) will meet regularly on Wednesdays evenings at the church at 7:30-8:45 PM (please note the time change). Come, take a break from your hectic, crazy lives, and join us for some crazy fun, great discussions, and big belly laughs. Meet our Advisors: Shelby and Graham Simmons, Hope and Lou Wesely, Joe and Taylor Breisch, Lauren and Alex Joujan. .

For more information please see John Gray, YM Chair, or Pastor Mihee.

CHILDREN’S MINISTRY [Grades Pre-K through 5th]

Sunday School
We continue to explore the stories surrounding Jesus’ ministry, particularly as witnessed in the Gospel of Luke. Some notable stories are the calling of the disciples, his miracles, and his teachings about loving our enemies.

Winter Mission Focus:
We will begin to talk about One Great Hour of Sharing, which is an offering PCUSA collects during the season of Lent and Easter.

Communion Workshop for Grades 2-5:
Is your child interested in learning more about communion and why we do it? We will be having a sacrament workshop for children on Sunday, March 21st following the worship service from 12-2 PM. This will be a time we will look at stories from the Bible that teach us about communion, and have an activity and lunch together. There is no cost, and parents are welcome to join us! We will have a special communion at the 8:30 AM service on Easter Sunday, where the children who participated in the workshop will be invited to take communion for the first time with their church family! Please see Pastor Mihee to sign up.

For information see Christy Molnar, Children’s Ministry Chair, or Pastor Mihee .
